GBRW Learning offers a comprehensive training programme for bankers covering the key elements of running a commercial real estate finance business, from the origination of business to all the complex issues around risk management, through to dealing with distressed real estate debt. The programme is facilitated by Monica Filkova, a banker with an exceptional track record in commercial real estate finance as well as an engaging training approach.

The programme comprises two two-day courses – Part1: Origination and Credit Risk Management, and Part 2: Managing Distressed, plus an optional one-day module on Deal Modelling as a one-day extension to Part 1. Together they form a comprehensive training suite in this important area of business for many banks in emerging markets. However each course can also be taken as stand-alone training.

This course covers the fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) with a particular focus on best practice in origination and credit risk management. It is Part 1 of GBRW Learning’s 2-part programme to help banking professionals build or improve the competitiveness and soundness of their CREF banking business. It can be taken as a stand-alone course or complemented with Part 2, ‘Managing Distressed Debt’ (see below). It includes an optional additional module on Deal Modelling.

This course focuses on the skills required for identifying and managing distressed debt in Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF). It takes participants through the debt risk metrics suitable for identifying and assessing problem loans, the economic and regulatory context for distressed debt, and key workout and resolution strategies. It can be taken as a stand-alone course, or it can be combined with Part 1, ‘Origination and Credit Risk Management’ (see above).
